My work life, but as real life …

I don’t usually post this type of thing, but this is so perfect I just had to share!

Kate’s trying to get your attention

You just gotta love this! Beautiful stripes bleeding out onto the busy, nasty sidewalk of Chelsea. A great break of color surrounded by the cold grey pavement of Manhattan.

NYC has too many Starbucks

starbucks_truck

Apparently there are so many Starbucks in NYC that they are now taking it to the streets and have an army of coffee trucks. You can literally find a Starbucks on every other block in Manhattan. Jenny and I were down in Tribeca doing a photoshoot at dusk when this bright blue truck rolled by. I just couldn’t resist.

A great quote …

“Humankind cannot stand very much reality.”

First In Business Worldwide …

first_in_business

Saw this ad on the train heading back into Manhattan … And my obscene compulsiveness noticed that the “ticker” of CNBC on the cell phone read only “First in Business Worldwide” over and over and over and over. From my experience at CNN, the “ticker” never says the same thing twice. I wonder if someone forgot to update this information, or was this intentional so that the ad would not be tied to any particular current event(s)? It seems the copywriter had an opportunity here to use the features of this new technology as info on the “ticker.”

Either way … It’s ashame this space was wasted for such a mediocre tagline!

Hard to find good help these days …

What’s wrong with this image? I wonder if this advertisement was designed for an upside down installation. Something found on the way to the studio!

Update: So, I just discovered this is a new Gatorade product, Shine On. And I don’t think the upside down installation was intentional. However it might be … Apparently this is a new product for Gatorade AM. I’m assuming a Gatorade product to jump start your morning. Therefore it would, in many ways, make sense to install this advertisement upside down.

Gotta love this !!

Parents shoulda bought the iPod for Xmas …

Please take note of the top four search terms on Google today … December 31st. Looks like there’s some Christmas gift gloom here … Seems that a lot of those Microsoft Zune mp3 players purchased as Christmas gifts aren’t working out so well. Just another reason to not purchase Microsoft products.

Attention to Detail

Take notice here … the image has been cropped a bit too tight. Oh, the woes of lack of attention! Granted, only 0.5% of the population would ever notice, but I did.

Salvaging for decorations …

Jenny loves to decorate for all holidays and seasons. Being that NYC apartment living doesn’t lend itself to large amounts of disposable space, the majority of our decorations are in Pennsylvania in storage.

So, what to do when you pick up a tree for Christmas? Well a quick look at our recyclying bin under the sink revealed plenty. Pictured above is a photo of the star on our tree. Originally, this was the lid of a disposable aluminum oven dish a friend brought by filled with cupcakes. No more cupcakes. Now see star … A grease pencil, the “toolbox” scissors, and a straight edge for bending. Viola!
